Walk on the Wild Side: Guided Nature Walk Series
Walk on the Wild Side reflects MHAS’s mission to protect birds and the habitats they need while fostering lasting connections between people and nature. These guided walks provide free, hands-on opportunities to explore the preserve, observe wildlife and birds, and learn from the land, all in a welcoming, inclusive environment. Donations to support our work are gratefully accepted both on our website and on-site at the preserve.
How the Series Works
Monthly Walks: Each walk focuses on seasonal highlights at the preserve, from winter tracks to fall colors.
Guided by Local Experts: Learn from local naturalists and birders about wildlife, plants, and conservation practices.
All Ages Welcome: Walks are designed for families, beginners, and seasoned explorers alike.
Accessibility & Equipment: Trails are easy to moderate; snowshoes are welcome in winter months.
